Paintball gear mainly consists of a paintball gun, paintball
mask (nobody wants to lose an eye playing paintball), and paintballs.
You wouldn’t be playing paintball if you didn’t have
a gun and some balls, and a mask is absolutely essential and required
equipment if you are playing at a commercial field or facility.
Aside from the gun, the mask is the most important piece of paintball
gear. Masks are sometimes called “goggles”. Some masks
even include a guard for the throat and head and neck coverings.
These safety items work very well, but they do tend to cut down
on visibility a bit.
Paintball gear can also include full camouflage jumpsuits (usually
used for woodsball games), matching uniforms (for tournament play),
or whatever you’re wearing when you show up to play paintball
for fun. Modern paintballs are non-toxic and water-based so the
paint will easily wash out of clothes, but if you’re not
a uniform-wearing paintballer, wear clothes you won’t mind
getting beat up a bit.
