In the 1970s paintball guns were used to market trees and livestock. The guns were developed to shoot small capsules filled with paint. When the capsule hit an object the capsule would burst and the paint would stain the object. Ranchers would use this to mark cattle for one buyer in a specific color of paint so that the cattle the buyer had purchased would be easy to find. The same method was applied to trees and the marked trees would be cut down.
In the early 1980s the paintball gun intrigued a group of young boys who began to battle with the guns amongst each other. The group thought this was a wonderful pastime and named their new game the national survival game. They would meet in a large field and stalk each their friends, shooting them upon sight. As word spread about the boys new pass time other groups of friends began to try the activity. The phenomenon of paint ball took off from there.
The first commercial paintball field opened in 1982. The paint ball field allowed large groups of people to play at one designated location. Around that same time many manufacturing companies took to manufacturing paint ball guns, gear and equipment. Since then paintball has changed a little. The capsules no longer contain paint but instead a soap-like substance. The new paintballs are easier to clean and not so destructive if accidently swallowed. Also, rules and regulations have been put in place for the safety of paintball users that require the use of gear such as masks and equipment.
Paintball equipment is easily acquired through renal at any paint ball facility, or purchase at any paintball retailer. The essentials needed for paintballing are masks, guns, and paintballs. There are many other accessories you can buy as well. You can purchase pads to lessen the blow of the gun. Bruises acquired from paintball guns can last for weeks. You can also purchase jerseys to ensure you are aiming at an individual of the opposite team. Gun enhancement accessories can also be purchased.Before you go paintballing make sure you are able to find its rules and regulations. Though intended for fun this sport can be dangerous and cause serious harm to yourself or another individual if rules are not followed. Be sure to follow all rules provided to you.
